Start your Labor Day weekend with activities like a parade, kids fishing contest, dances, as well as rodeo, roping and barrel racing and many more throughout Harper Frontier Days Celebrations! Stay a short drive away, at one of the finest Fredericksburg lodging, the Inn on Barons Creek!

Frontier Days is a celebration of what life was like in western Gillespie County, the fun begins on Friday night, with team roping at the rodeo arena in the park. Then the Almost Patsy Cline Band will perform in the street dance. After dancing your heart out, you’ll appreciate the short commute back to your Fredericksburg lodging at our Inn, so you can rest before hitting the ground running on Saturday!

Keep celebrating with the Frontier Days 5K Fun Run, at the Harper High School track on Saturday morning. Don’t forget the award ceremony following the run! If you have little ones, you may prefer signing them up for the Kid Fish tournament! If neither of these options sound like they’d suit you and your family, we have more! Check out our Market Craft Fair or take a stroll through the Pioneer Museum; maybe you’ll win one our other tournaments! After the tournaments, the annual downtown parade will start, and the traditional BBQ dinner follows. A Lester Meier-produced rodeo will kick off later into the night, and the dance follows.

Frontier Days are at Harper Community Park, and all profits go towards the Park.
