Cabernet Grill

When you sit down at the Cabernet Grill, you will be headed for a real treat. Executive Chef Ross Burtwell has perfected the art of Hill Country cuisine.  From the freshest seafood, to Certified Angus Beef, to wild game and ranch fare he uses only the finest ingredients.

If there is one complaint against Chef Ross it’s that he’s too picky. He carries that criticism like a badge of honor while his vendors scurry to find product that meets his standards. For example, all Cabernet Grill steaks are Certified Angus Beef—the top tier in US beef. Less than 8% of all cattle qualify for this distinction. In addition, we require a 28-day age on our beef to assure maximum tenderness and flavor. Trust us, it’s worth it.

William Chris

Winemakers William (Bill) Blackmon and Chris Brundrett bring a combined 35 years of winegrowing experience in creating wines that lean on Old World techniques to deliver a signature winemaking style. They follow a philosophy that delivers wines of structural balance and delicate nuance, allowing the terroir of each specific vineyard’s fruit to dictate the choices they make in bringing each vintage from vineyard to bottle.

Bill and Chris call themselves ‘winegrowers’ rather than winemakers, and they emphasize the importance of “putting footsteps in the vineyard.” As veterans of the Texas viticulture industry, they’ve come to the conclusion that an intimate attention to the particular needs of each block of every vineyard is necessary to achieve the best possible quality. Select blocks are then hand-picked and sorted for ripeness, with some of the state’s most mature High Plains and Hill Country vineyards featured exclusively at William Chris.

The store originally sold shoes only, but eventually branched out into apparel. And it wasn't long before the Two Marys discovered their love of jewelry.

Fredericksburg Gourmet Coffee and Tea

Fredericksburg Gourmet Coffee and Tea

The very word gourmet is often applied rather loosely to various products including coffee. Gourmet coffee websites all declare that theirs is the best coffee and the best coffee beans to be found. This simply cannot be accurate since only 20% of the world’s production of coffee can be labeled as best . To be eligible to carry the gourmet name, certain criteria must be adhered to. The beans must be grown on plantations at their highest elevations, having nearly perfect weather environments. After the premium beans have been hand picked by dedicated, caring folks, they are then air- dried. All of our coffees come from this very type of location. The grade of bean we purchase are classified as a Class I Specialty Grade Arabica Beans. These beans are then selected for proper blending and the Northern German Slow Roasting Process. Smoking at the end of the cycle is another important contribution given the beans and here again the Micro-Roaster can give that extra touch. The beans are dumped onto racks from the roaster where they are thoroughly air-cooled. Upon completion, the beans are packed in special bags for maximum freshness and shipped for delivery that same day.

Come experience Fredericksburg Gourmet Coffee and Tea.
